China & Porcelain Restoration
Porcelain is a translucent, delicate, yet hard ceramic material that is made of a unique type of clay from granite and feldspar minerals, heated at a high temperature to become white and shiny. The production of bone china and porcelain is essentially the same, except for the addition of bone ash to the bone china product. Bone ash strengthens tableware by making it softer, less brittle, and less likely to break than porcelain.
Porcelain and china are used to make beautiful decorative sculptures, figurines, lamps, vases, plates, cups, bowls and assorted dish-ware.
Porcelain and china are excellent materials for repair and restoration. If your piece is damaged, As Good As New Repair and Restoration is pleased to provide service to restore and repair your cherished treasures.
Pottery and Ceramic Restoration
Ceramics are generally made by taking mixtures of clay, earthen elements, powders and water and shaping them into desired forms. Once the ceramic has been shaped, it is fired in a high-temperature oven known as a kiln. Often, ceramics are covered in decorative, waterproof, paint-like substances known as glazes. Ceramics and pottery are more porous than porcelain and china. Ceramic and pottery repair and restoration are a regular part of our services at As Good As New Repair and Restoration.
Our business focuses on repair and restoration of unique, handmade pots, vessels, vases, bowls, lamps, antiques and figurines. To restore your treasured ceramics and pottery to their original beauty, we can bond broken parts, replace broken pieces and fill cracks and chips.

Metal Restoration and Repair
Most pure metals come from the earth’s crust. Metals are extracted from ores, which are naturally occurring rocks containing metals and other minerals. Vast mining operations are necessary to extract metal ores from the ground. Mineral concentration within the rock is often relatively low, meaning that a considerable amount of excavation is necessary to get the metals.
As Good As New Repair and Restoration can polish your jewelry of silver, gold, copper and brass. We also polish silver, gold, copper, and brass home decorative pieces. We can remove rust and debris from your metal pieces and restore damaged areas on your metal objects, frames, or artwork.
Glass and Crystal Restoration
Glass and crystal are made by being heated with chemicals in a furnace until molten. Glass is a hard, brittle, often transparent substance commonly made from sand. Glass is blown by a glassblower and shaped into the desired designs. However, the two materials feature various differences, from their chemical composition and weight to how they refract light and reverberate sound.
Glass is used to make cups, drinking glasses, plates, bowls, vessels, candle holders, decorative figurines, lamps, artistic glass designs and vases. When Italian glass-cutters developed the technique of cutting glass like the crystalline of a cut gemstone, it was called crystal.
We can offer suggestions on your glass repair. We can also have your glass and crystal pieces sent to our glass grinding and repair associates to review your damaged item. Our glass repair associates use UV (ultra-violet) bonding agents for strong, clear bonds and professional grinding tools to remove chips. If you have heirloom glassware or sentimental crystal ornaments that are chipped or damaged, As Good As New Repair and Restoration is here to help you.

Wood Restoration and Repair
Wood is a structural tissue found in the stems and roots of trees and other woody plants. It is an organic material of a natural composite of cellulose fibers that are strong in tension. Wood may also refer to other plant materials with comparable properties and materials engineered for wood, woodchips, or fiber. Wood has been used for thousands of years for fuel, as a construction material, and for making tools, weapons, bowls, vessels, vases, decorative art, figurines, sculptures, objects, lamps, furniture and paper.
As Good As New Repair and Restoration offers wood, wood Furniture and wood composite restoration services. We specialize in bonding broken parts, replacing missing pieces, filling cracks, chips and gouges, and staining to a perfect match in order to restore your damaged wood pieces and furniture to their natural beauty.
Plaster & Plastic Restoration
Plaster is a building material, with a pasty composition (as of lime or gypsum, water and sand) that hardens on drying and is used for coating walls, ceilings, partitions, and decorative fireplaces, trim and decorative pieces. Polymer and plastic composites are strengthened with fibers, fillers, particulates, powders and other matrix reinforcements to improve strength and stiffness.
Plastics are a wide range of synthetic or semi-synthetic materials that use polymers as a main ingredient. Their plasticity makes it possible for plastics to be molded or pressed into solid objects of various shapes. This adaptability, plus a wide range of other properties, such as being lightweight, durable, flexible, and inexpensive to produce, has led to its widespread use. Plastics typically are made through human industrial systems. Most modern plastics are derived from fossil fuel-based chemicals like natural gas or petroleum; however, recent industrial methods use variants made from renewable materials, such as corn or cotton derivatives.
As Good As New Repair and Restoration can repair your plaster, plaster composite or plastics by filling in chips, cracks, gouges and damaged pieces to restore their original durability.

Seashell Restoration & Repair
A seashell, also known simply as a shell, is a hard, protective outer layer usually created by an animal or organism that lives in the sea. The shell is part of the body of the animal. Empty seashells are often found washed up on beaches by beachcombers. The shells are empty because the animal has died and the soft parts have decomposed or been eaten by another animal. Whole seashells or parts of sea- shells have been used as jewelry and other forms of adornment since prehistoric times. Historically, mother of pearl was primarily a seashell product, although more recently, some mother of pearl comes from freshwater mussels. Small pieces of colored and iridescent shells have been used to create mosaics and inlays, which have decorated walls, furniture and boxes. Large numbers of whole seashells, arranged to form patterns, have been used to decorate mirror frames, furniture and man-made shell grottos. Seashells make lovely art decorations in a home.
As Good As New Repair and Restoration can repair your delicate seashells if they have been dropped or damaged and restore the shell to its original beauty.
